Dr. Farouq A. Al-Hamdan, a spine specialist at SSI, specializes in providing high quality medical care for patients suffering from back and neck pain.   • Surgery of cervical, thoracic, lumbar – sacral spine through anterior and posterior approaches. Trauma, degenerative disease, tumors, infections, congenital deformities, scoliosis and revision of failed back surgeries. Experience with different spinal techniques and instrumentation including percutanous pedicle screw instrumentation and interbody fusion cages with minimal access techniques.
  • Diagnostic and Special Procedures: Transpediclar Biopsy and Transpedicular Grafting. Transpedicular and Arthroscopic debridment of spondylodiscitis. Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty of the thoracic and lumbar spine. Dorsal Column Stimulator and Morphine Pump insertion for Failed Back Surgery Syndrome. Radiofrequency Rhizolysis and Chemical Rhizotomy for Facet Syndrome pain. Facet Block, Discogram and Nerve Block for the cervical, lumbar and thoracic spine. Arthroscopic Microdiskectomy and Foraminoplasty, Percutraneous Laser Disc and Foraminal Decompression (day surgery under local anesthesia and MAC).
  • Independent Observer: 1995 Oct, 20th – 30th. Review of 180 patients operated on by Dr. A. Yeung (Arizona Orthopaedic Surgeons, Phoenix, Arizona).
